30+ Organizations Urge Congress to Support Robust Transmission Funding in FY 2023 Budget.
WASHINGTON, D.C.– A varied coalition of more than 30 tidy energy organizations, ecological nonprofits, labor unions, consumer groups, developers and other business sent a joint letter to Congress today advising robust financing for high-voltage transmission release and research study in the Department of Energys FY 2023 spending plan.
In the letter, the companies specified their support for the crucial work being done by the U.S. Department of Energys (DOE) Grid Deployment Office, Loan Programs Office (LPO), and Office of Electricity (OE), writing that brand-new funding for these offices will “drive considerable tidy energy implementation, let loose billions in personal investment, produce countless new jobs, provide affordable energy to benefit customers, and significantly decrease emissions.”.
” Our energy transmission infrastructure is important to supplying Americans access to the power they need,” the organizations composed. “To guarantee American households and services constantly have access to power, it is important that we purchase and develop brand-new transmission to make our grid more trusted, resilient, and interconnected. Updated and broadened transmission lines will keep expenses down by bringing varied kinds of budget-friendly, tidy power to more neighborhoods.”.
In the letter, the companies encourage Congress to think about the following:.

Upgraded and expanded transmission lines will keep costs down by bringing diverse types of inexpensive, clean power to more neighborhoods.”.
