In addition, even though solar energy has been around for a while, the essentials of these tasks are not commonly taught in school. During our initial appointment, I kept in mind that they might just accomplish about 56% of solar energy balanced out due to their houses consumption rates and shading from trees on the property. We talked about a couple of extra energy effectiveness upgrades to the house to minimize energy intake, which could supply a higher energy offset. Angela at first flinched at the thought of investing more money into the home, however eventually she called me back and stated she desired to move forward with the solar and energy efficiency upgrades. Thanks to the Air Conditioning upgrade, they have actually lowered their energy usage considerably, and she has a flat, predictable solar payment each month that is less than she was paying prior to installing solar.

The American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) is happy to share the fourth installment in our “Accelerating Renewables” blog series.
Each installment includes market leaders and subjects related to accelerating an equitable and just transition to a renewable energy economy. In acknowledgment of National Hispanic Heritage Month, our September features highlight how three Hispanic-owned Accelerate member companies are flourishing in the renewable resource sector.
What inspired you to begin SUNTEX?
As a natural-born leader, I always set high expectations for myself and constantly try to find chances to serve others– be it by providing exceptional client service, language translations, or merely sharing understanding with others. My personal goals and desire to assist others led me to work in the renewable resource sector, where I can pursue this dream on a bigger scale.
Tell us about SUNTEX?
Our companys objective is basic: we wish to make solar easy and cost effective every step of the way. We mostly serve the Hispanic community in Texas. That is what we do best– assist Spanish speakers understand and adopt eco-friendly energy as a way of life, assisting generations to come.
Please share with us more about your journey towards establishing SUNTEX. Existed an “aha moment” when you chose to focus on solar?
Back in August of 2018, my service partner and I had the opportunity to sign up with an extremely appealing little solar setup business in Houston. Through this work we saw the chance readily available to bring solar into our (the Hispanic) neighborhood. As a result, my partner and I combined his experience in selling to the Hispanic market with my consumer service knowledge to produce SUNTEX where “the consumer is the factor we exist as a business”. Our focus is connecting the Hispanic neighborhood and our clients with outstanding customer support.
Why is focusing on the Hispanic neighborhood a concern for SUNTEX?
Number Two: in the past, we have actually personally experienced an absence of care and interaction from those that can not identify with our culture. We knew that solar advantages everybody, regardless of race or background, and that our individuals would require a lot of assistance to understand how to get this benefit for their homes.
What obstacles do you face? Why?
Being a small business with a high level of service expectations for our customers comes with its own set of difficulties. Additionally, even though solar energy has actually been around for a while, the essentials of these jobs are not widely taught in school.
How are you making an effect through SUNTEX?
By simply living up to our truthful values. I have found out throughout my life that in organization, there is no other method to do it right however to be sincere. While others may take shortcuts, the reality constantly dominates.
Please show us a recent company success story.
Throughout our initial consultation, I noted that they could only achieve about 56% of solar energy offset due to their houses consumption rates and shading from trees on the property. We talked about a few additional energy performance upgrades to the home to minimize energy intake, which might supply a greater energy balanced out. Angela initially cringed at the idea of investing more cash into the home, however eventually she called me back and stated she wanted to move forward with the solar and energy performance upgrades.
During the setup, we wound up paying for Angela and her elderly mom to remain in a hotel until their inspections and upgrades were total to ensure they were comfortable throughout the procedure.
Now, Angelas planetary system covers 100% of the electrical energy used in her home. Thanks to the AC upgrade, they have actually reduced their energy usage greatly, and she has a flat, predictable solar payment every month that is less than she was paying before setting up solar. This is what we suggest by “client service.”
From a national viewpoint, how can we enhance access to renewable enery?
Most of the house owners that we visit are lucky to own a house, yet numerous of them have not certified for solar due to several combined or separated factors such as subprime credit rating, lower yearly family earnings, self-employment, or an absence of understanding of readily available loan programs. We need to supply more individuals with opportunities to adopt renewable energy with less troubles.
How has your Accelerate membership helped your service?
By empowering us to believe that there is somebody there to support our growth in this market, and offering us the opportunity to satisfy others in the very same boat. Now I understand that there is wish for minority small companies in the sustainable energy market.
How can possible partners do company with you?
It is essential that we share the very same worths and mission to help others, even if it means getting out of our comfort zones. It may cost a bit more for us to do company, but its worth it in the end for our consumers. If youre prepared to begin there, we d love to satisfy to go over possible collaboration chances.
Exists anything else you wish to share with ACORE members and partners?
We are really grateful for the Accelerate membership program and for all of the opportunities you have supplied. I know this is only the beginning, and we have a long road ahead of us; nevertheless, I anticipate becoming a sponsor to help lead the way for other Accelerate members in the future– with a special thanks to all of my customers and collaborators at SUNTEX, since they are the fuel that drives the mission!
