Teslas 3.8-megawatt Solar PV selection and its 12 megawatt-hour Megapack will power the center, and building and construction has actually started on the project.
” Weʼre excited to start the construction of this center using Tesla Solar and Megapack,” Adam Back, CEO and co-founder of Blockstream, stated in a news release. “This is an action to showing our thesis that Bitcoin mining can money zero-emission power facilities and develop financial growth for the future.”
The goal is for the center to be completed “later on this year.” When its running, there will be an openly offered dashboard revealing “real-time metrics of the projectʼs performance, consisting of power output and Bitcoin mined.” The strategy is for the control panel to be available “24/7 from any internet browser, supplying the industry with a real-world, real-time case study of a zero-emission energy Bitcoin mine.”
” People like to debate about the various factors to do with Bitcoin mining,” Back said in an interview with CNBC. “We figured, lets simply show it. Have an open dashboard so individuals can play along, maybe it can inform other gamers to participate.”
Blockstream and Block (previously Square) first revealed in June that they planned to develop the facility.
