Additionally, even though solar energy has been around for a while, the basics of these tasks are not extensively taught in school. Throughout our initial consultation, I kept in mind that they could just attain about 56% of solar energy balanced out due to their homes usage rates and shading from trees on the residential or commercial property. We went over a couple of additional energy efficiency upgrades to the home to minimize energy consumption, which might offer a greater energy balanced out. Angela at first flinched at the idea of investing more money into the home, however eventually she called me back and said she desired to move forward with the solar and energy efficiency upgrades. Thanks to the Air conditioning upgrade, they have reduced their energy consumption greatly, and she has a flat, foreseeable solar payment each month that is less than she was paying before installing solar.

The American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) is delighted to share the fourth installation in our “Accelerating Renewables” blog series.
Each installment features market leaders and topics related to speeding up an equitable and simply shift to a sustainable energy economy. In recognition of National Hispanic Heritage Month, our September features highlight how three Hispanic-owned Accelerate member business are prospering in the eco-friendly energy sector.
What inspired you to start SUNTEX?
As a natural-born leader, I constantly set high expectations for myself and constantly search for chances to serve others– be it by providing remarkable customer support, language translations, or simply sharing knowledge with others. My individual objectives and desire to assist others led me to operate in the sustainable energy sector, where I can pursue this dream on a bigger scale.
Tell us about SUNTEX?
Our companys objective is easy: we wish to make solar easy and budget-friendly every step of the method. We mainly serve the Hispanic community in Texas. That is what we do best– help Spanish speakers comprehend and adopt renewable energy as a method of life, assisting generations to come.
Please share with us more about your journey toward developing SUNTEX. Was there an “aha moment” when you chose to focus on solar?
Back in August of 2018, my business partner and I had the opportunity to join a very appealing little solar setup company in Houston. Through this work we saw the opportunity available to bring solar into our (the Hispanic) community. As an outcome, my partner and I combined his experience in offering to the Hispanic market with my client service knowledge to produce SUNTEX where “the customer is the reason we exist as a business”. Our focus is connecting the Hispanic community and our customers with outstanding customer support.
Why is concentrating on the Hispanic neighborhood a concern for SUNTEX?
Number Two: in the past, we have personally experienced an absence of care and interaction from those that can not determine with our culture. We knew that solar advantages everybody, regardless of race or background, and that our individuals would require a lot of assistance to understand how to get this advantage for their houses.
What challenges do you deal with? Why?
Being a little business with a high level of service expectations for our consumers comes with its own set of challenges. In addition, even though solar energy has actually been around for a while, the basics of these tasks are not commonly taught in school.
How are you making an impact through SUNTEX?
By merely measuring up to our sincere values. I have found out throughout my life that in service, there is no other way to do it ideal however to be honest. While others might take faster ways, the truth always prevails.
Please show us a recent business success story.
During our preliminary consultation, I kept in mind that they could just achieve about 56% of solar energy balanced out due to their homes consumption rates and shading from trees on the home. We went over a few extra energy effectiveness upgrades to the home to reduce energy usage, which could provide a higher energy offset. Angela at first cringed at the idea of investing more money into the home, but eventually she called me back and said she wanted to move forward with the solar and energy efficiency upgrades.
During the setup, we wound up paying for Angela and her senior mother to remain in a hotel up until their upgrades and assessments were total to guarantee they were comfy throughout the process.
Now, Angelas solar system covers 100% of the electricity utilized in her house. Thanks to the air conditioner upgrade, they have actually lowered their energy consumption significantly, and she has a flat, predictable solar payment every month that is less than she was paying before setting up solar. This is what we imply by “customer care.”
From a national point of view, how can we improve access to eco-friendly enery?
Many of the property owners that we check out are lucky to own a home, yet many of them have not qualified for solar due to several combined or isolated elements such as subprime credit score, lower yearly household income, self-employment, or an absence of knowledge of available loan programs. We require to supply more individuals with opportunities to adopt renewable energy with less troubles.
How has your Accelerate membership assisted your service?
By empowering us to believe that there is somebody there to support our growth in this market, and offering us the chance to satisfy others in the very same boat. Now I know that there is wish for minority small companies in the renewable resource market.
How can prospective partners work with you?
It is essential that we share the very same worths and objective to help others, even if it means leaving our comfort zones. It may cost a little more for us to do business, but its worth it in the end for our customers. We d enjoy to meet to go over possible cooperation opportunities if youre ready to start there.
Exists anything else you wish to show ACORE members and partners?
We are really grateful for the Accelerate membership program and for all of the opportunities you have actually offered. I understand this is only the beginning, and we have a long road ahead of us; however, I eagerly anticipate becoming a sponsor to assist pave the way for other Accelerate members in the future– with an unique thanks to all of my consumers and collaborators at SUNTEX, considering that they are the fuel that drives the mission!
