Furthermore, even though solar energy has been around for a while, the fundamentals of these jobs are not widely taught in school. Throughout our preliminary consultation, I noted that they might only attain about 56% of solar energy balanced out due to their houses intake rates and shading from trees on the residential or commercial property. We went over a couple of extra energy efficiency upgrades to the house to reduce energy intake, which might provide a higher energy balanced out. Angela at first flinched at the thought of investing more cash into the house, however ultimately she called me back and said she desired to move forward with the solar and energy efficiency upgrades. Thanks to the AC upgrade, they have minimized their energy usage considerably, and she has a flat, predictable solar payment each month that is less than she was paying before setting up solar.

The American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) is happy to share the 4th installation in our “Accelerating Renewables” blog series.
Each installment includes industry leaders and subjects associated with accelerating a fair and just shift to an eco-friendly energy economy. In recognition of National Hispanic Heritage Month, our September features highlight how 3 Hispanic-owned Accelerate member business are prospering in the renewable resource sector.
What inspired you to start SUNTEX?
As a natural-born leader, I constantly set high expectations for myself and constantly look for chances to serve others– be it by providing remarkable customer care, language translations, or just sharing understanding with others. My individual objectives and desire to help others led me to operate in the renewable resource sector, where I can pursue this dream on a bigger scale.
Tell us about SUNTEX?
Our companys objective is basic: we wish to make solar simple and affordable every action of the way. We mostly serve the Hispanic neighborhood in Texas. That is what we do best– help Spanish speakers comprehend and embrace renewable resource as a method of life, assisting generations to come.
Please show us more about your journey towards developing SUNTEX. Was there an “aha moment” when you chose to focus on solar?
Back in August of 2018, my company partner and I had the opportunity to join an extremely promising small solar installation company in Houston. Through this work we saw the opportunity offered to bring solar into our (the Hispanic) community. As an outcome, my partner and I combined his experience in selling to the Hispanic market with my client service proficiency to create SUNTEX where “the client is the reason we exist as a business”. Our focus is linking the Hispanic community and our customers with exceptional customer support.
Why is concentrating on the Hispanic neighborhood a concern for SUNTEX?
Number Two: in the past, we have actually personally experienced a lack of care and interaction from those that can not recognize with our culture. We understood that solar benefits everyone, regardless of race or background, and that our people would need a lot of assistance to understand how to obtain this advantage for their houses.
What obstacles do you face? Why?
Being a little company with a high level of service expectations for our consumers features its own set of challenges. However, the best difficulty we deal with is shared by a number of small companies: turnover. In addition, even though solar energy has been around for a while, the fundamentals of these jobs are not widely taught in school. So, we need to invest a lot amount of time training sales staff to ensure they have the ability to provide a high level of client service.
How are you making an impact through SUNTEX?
By simply living up to our sincere values. I have discovered throughout my life that in organization, there is no other method to do it right however to be honest. While others might take faster ways, the reality constantly dominates.
Please share with us a recent business success story.
Throughout our preliminary appointment, I kept in mind that they might just attain about 56% of solar energy balanced out due to their houses consumption rates and shading from trees on the property. We discussed a few extra energy efficiency upgrades to the house to minimize energy intake, which might offer a greater energy balanced out. Angela at first flinched at the idea of investing more money into the home, but ultimately she called me back and said she desired to move forward with the solar and energy effectiveness upgrades.
Throughout the installation, we ended up paying for Angela and her elderly mother to remain in a hotel till their upgrades and assessments were total to ensure they were comfortable throughout the process.
Now, Angelas planetary system covers 100% of the electrical power used in her home. Thanks to the air conditioning upgrade, they have actually minimized their energy usage significantly, and she has a flat, predictable solar payment monthly that is less than she was paying prior to installing solar. This is what we indicate by “client service.”
From a nationwide perspective, how can we improve access to sustainable enery?
Many of the property owners that we visit are lucky to own a house, yet numerous of them have not certified for solar due to numerous combined or isolated factors such as subprime credit score, lower yearly family earnings, self-employment, or an absence of knowledge of available loan programs. We require to supply more individuals with chances to adopt eco-friendly energy with less troubles.
How has your Accelerate subscription assisted your business?
By empowering us to think that there is somebody there to support our growth in this market, and providing us the chance to satisfy others in the exact same boat. Now I know that there is wish for minority small organizations in the renewable resource industry.
How can possible partners work with you?
It is essential that we share the very same values and objective to assist others, even if it implies getting out of our convenience zones. It might cost a little more for us to do organization, however its worth it in the end for our customers. If youre prepared to start there, we d like to fulfill to go over possible cooperation opportunities.
Is there anything else you wish to share with ACORE members and partners?
We are really grateful for the Accelerate membership program and for all of the chances you have actually provided. I know this is just the beginning, and we have a long road ahead of us; however, I eagerly anticipate ending up being a sponsor to help lead the way for other Accelerate members in the future– with a special thanks to all of my clients and collaborators at SUNTEX, given that they are the fuel that drives the mission!
