Today, we are including Lyssy Energy Enterprises, a utility-scale renewable energy developer in Texas. The following is a Q&A with Lyssy Energy Co-Founder and COO Katie Garza and Constance Thompson, ACOREs Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Programs.
What inspired you to start Lyssy Energy?
Lyssy Energy Enterprises all began with a favor to my daddy. He asked me to put together an energy lease that would secure his land for ranching and farming while offering an extra source of earnings.
A couple years later on, we began partnering with sustainable energy developers. There were definitely challenges and drawbacks, closed doors and unequal partnerships, however we utilized this time to truly sharpen our craft. We understood that if we desired our business to grow and succeed then we would need to take a threat. In 2020, when the world was forced to slow down due to the pandemic, we chose to take that risk. We utilized 2020 to rebrand Lyssy Energy into the business we had constantly dreamed about. In 2021, we have reintroduced ourselves to the world– no longer as an energy service company, however as renewable resource designers with the hope of owning and running utility-scale renewable resource tasks.
Tell us about Lyssy Energy.
Lyssy Energy Enterprises is an innovative, independently held, utility-scale developer of solar, wind and battery energy services. Our prime instruction is to add to the acceleration of the energy industrys transition to sustainable energy. We focus our operations in Texas, where flourishing population and service development indicate a rapidly growing need for energy. Lyssy Energy thinks that by releasing wind, solar and battery storage, we can optimize our efforts and provide all kinds of eco-friendly energy solutions. This state is our home, and the energy crisis unfolding in our yard is individual. What obstacles do you face? Why?

These jobs offer affordable and reliable electrical power, and likewise bring job opportunities and infrastructure development to bad communities.
