Today, we are featuring Lyssy Energy Enterprises, a utility-scale renewable resource designer in Texas. The following is a Q&A with Lyssy Energy Co-Founder and COO Katie Garza and Constance Thompson, ACOREs Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Programs.
What inspired you to start Lyssy Energy?
Lyssy Energy Enterprises all started with a favor to my dad. He asked me to put together an energy lease that would safeguard his land for ranching and farming while supplying an additional income. Before we understood it, my partner and I were helping others in the exact same situation. We made it official, got and began an organization to work.
A couple years later on, we began partnering with sustainable energy designers. We used 2020 to rebrand Lyssy Energy into the company we had always dreamed about. What challenges do you deal with? Why?

Women and individuals of color are crucial to our success, and it is important to promote their improvement to positions of management and leadership.
