Today, we are featuring Lyssy Energy Enterprises, a utility-scale renewable resource designer in Texas. The following is a Q&A with Lyssy Energy Co-Founder and COO Katie Garza and Constance Thompson, ACOREs Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Programs.
What inspired you to start Lyssy Energy?
Lyssy Energy Enterprises all began with a favor to my dad. He asked me to put together an energy lease that would safeguard his land for ranching and farming while supplying an additional income. Before we understood it, my partner and I were helping others in the same scenario. We made it main, started an organization and got to work.
A couple years later on, we started partnering with renewable energy designers. We used 2020 to rebrand Lyssy Energy into the company we had always dreamed about. In 2021, we have reintroduced ourselves to the world– no longer as an energy service company, but as renewable energy developers with the hope of owning and running utility-scale eco-friendly energy jobs.
Tell us about Lyssy Energy.
Lyssy Energy Enterprises is an innovative, independently held, utility-scale designer of solar, wind and battery energy services. Our prime instruction is to contribute to the velocity of the energy industrys shift to sustainable energy. Lyssy Energy believes that by releasing wind, solar and battery storage, we can maximize our efforts and provide all kinds of eco-friendly energy solutions.
What obstacles do you face? Why?
Capital is one of the most significant difficulties we face at the moment. The sun and the wind offer electrical power, however capital is what moves whatever and everyone else. We require capital for everyday operations, and to develop, construct and operate our projects.
Securing development capital early is necessary in supplying land control and affiliation studies to get tasks off the ground. We are working hard to develop relationships with large investment companies that have a strong interest in renewables and can supply the capital required to produce an effective renewable energy project.
How can potential partners do business with you?
Lyssy Energy Enterprises is open to partnerships or joint endeavors. Lyssy Energy Enterprises aims to continue developing a varied business. We intend to help balance the inequalities in our society by connecting to people that are historically disregarded and passed over. Ladies and people of color are crucial to our success, and it is essential to promote their advancement to positions of management and management.
Lyssy Energy is working with bad neighborhoods in rural areas, and we hope to make a difference by bringing sustainable energy tasks to areas with high rates of hardship and other vulnerable neighborhoods.
