Today, we are including Lyssy Energy Enterprises, a utility-scale renewable resource developer in Texas. The following is a Q&A with Lyssy Energy Co-Founder and COO Katie Garza and Constance Thompson, ACOREs Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Programs.
What inspired you to begin Lyssy Energy?
Lyssy Energy Enterprises all started with a favor to my father. He asked me to put together an energy lease that would protect his land for ranching and farming while supplying an extra source of income.
A couple years later on, we began partnering with renewable resource developers. There were certainly obstacles and imperfections, closed doors and unequal collaborations, but we utilized this time to truly sharpen our craft. We focus our operations in Texas, where thriving population and business growth suggest a rapidly growing need for energy. Lyssy Energy believes that by releasing wind, solar and battery storage, we can optimize our efforts and offer all kinds of sustainable energy solutions. This state is our home, and the energy crisis unfolding in our yard is personal. We wish to be a part of the solution and assist our neighbors throughout the state develop much-needed sources of clean power. We are well on our method, with 1.5 gigawatts (GW) of tidy, trustworthy energy consisting of one wind and 3 solar jobs currently in advancement and a prospective portfolio of 15 GW.
What challenges do you face? Why?

How are you making an effect through Lyssy Energy?
Lyssy Energy Enterprises aims to continue developing a diverse business. We intend to assist stabilize the inequalities in our society by reaching out to people that are traditionally overlooked and passed over. Females and people of color are key to our success, and it is important to promote their advancement to positions of management and management.
Hardship is another concern we intend to attend to. Lyssy Energy is working with bad neighborhoods in rural areas, and we hope to make a distinction by bringing renewable resource jobs to locations with high rates of hardship and other susceptible communities.
