In addition, even though solar energy has actually been around for a while, the basics of these tasks are not extensively taught in school. During our initial appointment, I noted that they could just attain about 56% of solar energy balanced out due to their houses usage rates and shading from trees on the residential or commercial property. We went over a couple of extra energy effectiveness upgrades to the house to lower energy usage, which could offer a greater energy offset. Angela at first cringed at the idea of investing more cash into the house, however ultimately she called me back and said she wanted to move forward with the solar and energy performance upgrades. Thanks to the Air conditioner upgrade, they have lowered their energy usage greatly, and she has a flat, predictable solar payment each month that is less than she was paying before installing solar.

The American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) is delighted to share the fourth installation in our “Accelerating Renewables” blog series.
Each installment includes industry leaders and topics associated with accelerating an equitable and just shift to a renewable resource economy. In recognition of National Hispanic Heritage Month, our September features highlight how three Hispanic-owned Accelerate member business are prospering in the eco-friendly energy sector.
What inspired you to begin SUNTEX?
As a natural-born leader, I constantly set high expectations for myself and always look for chances to serve others– be it by offering extraordinary consumer service, language translations, or just sharing understanding with others. My individual goals and desire to assist others led me to work in the sustainable energy sector, where I can pursue this dream on a larger scale.
Inform us about SUNTEX?
Our businesss mission is simple: we desire to make solar simple and affordable every step of the way. We mostly serve the Hispanic community in Texas. That is what we do best– help Spanish speakers understand and embrace renewable resource as a way of living, helping generations to come.
Please share with us more about your journey towards establishing SUNTEX. Was there an “aha minute” when you decided to focus on solar?
Back in August of 2018, my organization partner and I had the opportunity to join a really promising small solar installation company in Houston. Through this work we saw the opportunity offered to bring solar into our (the Hispanic) neighborhood.
Why is concentrating on the Hispanic community a priority for SUNTEX?
Number Two: in the past, we have personally experienced an absence of care and interaction from those that can not recognize with our culture. We understood that solar benefits everybody, regardless of race or background, and that our people would require a lot of support to understand how to obtain this advantage for their homes.
What obstacles do you face? Why?
Being a little company with a high level of service expectations for our clients comes with its own set of obstacles. Furthermore, even though solar energy has actually been around for a while, the fundamentals of these jobs are not widely taught in school.
How are you making an impact through SUNTEX?
By just living up to our truthful values. I have learned throughout my life that in company, there is no other method to do it best but to be truthful. While others may take shortcuts, the fact constantly dominates.
Please show us a recent business success story.
Throughout our initial appointment, I noted that they might just accomplish about 56% of solar energy offset due to their homes usage rates and shading from trees on the property. We went over a few extra energy efficiency upgrades to the house to minimize energy consumption, which could offer a greater energy offset. Angela at first winced at the thought of investing more cash into the home, however eventually she called me back and said she desired to move forward with the solar and energy performance upgrades.
During the setup, we ended up spending for Angela and her senior mom to remain in a hotel up until their inspections and upgrades were complete to ensure they were comfortable throughout the procedure.
Now, Angelas solar system covers 100% of the electricity used in her house. Thanks to the air conditioning upgrade, they have minimized their energy consumption significantly, and she has a flat, foreseeable solar payment every month that is less than she was paying before installing solar. This is what we suggest by “customer care.”
From a nationwide perspective, how can we improve access to eco-friendly enery?
Most of the property owners that we check out are fortunate to own a house, yet numerous of them have not qualified for solar due to several combined or separated aspects such as subprime credit score, lower annual family earnings, self-employment, or a lack of knowledge of offered loan programs. We require to provide more individuals with opportunities to adopt renewable energy with less hassles.
How has your Accelerate subscription assisted your company?
By empowering us to think that there is someone there to support our development in this industry, and providing us the chance to meet others in the exact same boat. Now I understand that there is expect minority little organizations in the sustainable energy industry.
How can prospective partners work with you?
It is very important that we share the same worths and mission to assist others, even if it means getting out of our convenience zones. It may cost a little more for us to do organization, however its worth it in the end for our customers. We d enjoy to satisfy to go over possible cooperation opportunities if youre ready to start there.
Exists anything else you would like to share with ACORE members and partners?
We are truly grateful for the Accelerate membership program and for all of the opportunities you have actually offered. I understand this is only the beginning, and we have a long roadway ahead of us; nevertheless, I eagerly anticipate ending up being a sponsor to help pave the method for other Accelerate members in the future– with an unique thanks to all of my clients and partners at SUNTEX, considering that they are the fuel that drives the mission!
