iPhone 12 Pro Max ranks fourth place in first-ever DXOMARK battery test

In a new battery test shared today by DXOMARK, the iPhone 12 Pro Max ranked in 4th place, behind Oppo Discover X3 Neo, Wiko Power U30, and Samsung Galaxy M51. This is DXOMARKs newest growth beyond its in-depth, and often controversial, electronic camera rankings.

DXOMARK is well-known for its smartphone cam tests and contrasts. Last year, the iPhone 12 Pro scored 128 in the DXOMark video camera test, ranking in fourth location overall. With the company broadening its tests, it just recently began covering audio, display, and now batteries.
According to DXOMARK, the business bases its tests on autonomy, charging, and efficiency:

DXOMARK has actually established its Battery testing protocol, and we described in general terms the type of tests we perform so as to score mobile phone battery performance for autonomy ( for how long a charge lasts, a.k.a. battery life), charging ( for how long it requires to charge), and effectiveness ( how efficiently the device handles its battery throughout charge up and discharge).

For DXOMARK, the iPhone 12 Pro Max also has a relatively good charging time until it reaches 80%, after that, it charges very slowly when compared to the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Oppo X3.

With an overall Battery rating of 78, the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max puts in a reputable performance that lands it in the leading 4 in our database so far. While it has an average score for Charging, and an above-average score for Autonomy, it is the existing rating leader for Efficiency so far (but as ever, numbers alone do not quite tell the whole story).

Although it can not compete at all with the Find X3 Pros impressive sub-score of 104 (attained through its 65W battery charger), the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max isnt too far behind the Snapdragon variation of the Samsung S21 Ultra in our complete charge screening.
