Today, we are including Lyssy Energy Enterprises, a utility-scale renewable resource developer in Texas. The following is a Q&A with Lyssy Energy Co-Founder and COO Katie Garza and Constance Thompson, ACOREs Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Programs.
What inspired you to start Lyssy Energy?
Lyssy Energy Enterprises all began with a favor to my daddy. He asked me to put together an energy lease that would secure his land for ranching and farming while offering an extra source of earnings.
A couple years later on, we began partnering with renewable resource developers. There were definitely obstacles and shortcomings, closed doors and unequal partnerships, but we used this time to actually refine our craft. We understood that if we desired our service to grow and succeed then we would require to take a risk. In 2020, when the world was forced to slow down due to the pandemic, we chose to take that danger. We utilized 2020 to rebrand Lyssy Energy into the company we had actually always dreamed about. In 2021, we have reintroduced ourselves to the world– no longer as an energy service company, but as sustainable energy designers with the hope of owning and operating utility-scale renewable resource jobs.

Lyssy Energy Enterprises is an ingenious, privately held, utility-scale designer of solar, wind and battery energy options. We focus our operations in Texas, where booming population and organization growth suggest a rapidly growing need for energy. Lyssy Energy believes that by deploying wind, solar and battery storage, we can maximize our efforts and provide all kinds of sustainable energy solutions. This state is our house, and the energy crisis unfolding in our backyard is individual. What obstacles do you face? Why?

Preferably, we want to work with financial investment partners that can supply capital from the development stage through the building phase. We are also open up to partners who are interested in investing in the company.
How are you making an impact through Lyssy Energy?
Lyssy Energy Enterprises strives to continue developing a varied business. We hope to assist balance the inequalities in our society by reaching out to individuals that are historically overlooked and passed over. Females and individuals of color are crucial to our success, and it is necessary to promote their development to positions of management and leadership.
Lyssy Energy is working with bad neighborhoods in rural areas, and we hope to make a difference by bringing eco-friendly energy tasks to areas with high rates of poverty and other vulnerable communities. It is important for the energy transition to not only modification how we produce energy, however to bring the disenfranchised to the center of this technological advancement so everybody shares the advantages.
